Last weekend Room 322 hosted a evening to remember, featuring the release of Falling Whistles. The event was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone who made it out to the event. In one evening we managed to establish over 75 whistle blowers for peace. Special shoutout for everyone behind the scenes who helped make this event happen we had a number of talent people grinding away all week leading up to main event.

If you never had the chance to pick up a whistle, we have a re-stock on its way. This will be the first of many signature release partys at Room 322, so we hope to see you soon!

bobbyt: One of the perks of owning a clothing store is you meet a wide selection of dope people who are passionate about fashion and there “hobbies”. We are always down to support the people who support us, so we decided to put MITI on Room322′s Spotlight.

Make It or Take It Crew (MITI) is group of local dancers based out of Edmonton. They have been strong supporters of Room 322 ever since 2009 and really represent our street lifestyle. Aside from being stylish individuals the original members Bolton and Kofi having been on the dance scene for a while tearing up local club and event around the city, simply for the pure enjoyment. Today you find a lot of people working to get paid, instead of working on things they love, but MITI is proof there are still people out there grinding away at the pursuit of passion.

Recently they have entered into a voting contest hosted here in Alberta called Young Free Alberta and would love all of our support. Take a minute out of your day and vote for these guys. Video is below and voting instructions as well.

bobbyt: Twice a year I manage to make my way down to Sin City to attend a fashion trade show called Magic. Magic is one of the biggest fashion trade shows in North America and over the years has developed into 3-4 different entities depending on the style of clothing. These different trade shows are Project, SLATE, Street, and Premium.

For a while I wanted to showcase the trade show lifestyle through video instead of pictures. I was not able to show the new fall/winter 2011 collections for brands Room 322 will be working with, but check out the short video below of a few clip of the trade show. Aside from hosting some of the newest and influential brands Magic/ Project Trade Show also attracts athletes, music artist and other celebrities to there bi-annual event.

One of the most anticipated day of the year any Canadian retailer and consumers is Boxing Day, but for the people “on the front line” it is one of the longest days of the year. Room 322 is still a growing store and like a new store we are constantly building up our following and customer based. We want everyone to have the opportunity to particpate in our one day sale, so every year we open from 8AM to 8PM. In the end of the day it is not just about that dollar amount we aim to obtain, but a good customer experience strive for. We truly enjoy watching custom’s expression when they are  finally be able to purchase a particular item, or walk out with twice as much merchandise compared to previous visits. On top of that whenever someone visit us for the first time on boxing day, we are extremely pleased when they explain how they will be definitely returning in the future. Lastly, it is like icing on a cake when customers thank us after purchasing an item, and then follow up on Facebook/twitter to express there gratitude. It my opinion this is what give small business the edge on chain, or department stores the direct interactions.  This experience, is something amazing to feel even if it is once year.

To wrap things up on the behalf of Room 322, I would like thank everyone who made it out Room 322 annual Boxing Day sale. A lot of you made our day from simply showing up at 8AM on the dot, patiently waiting in line to purchase your goods, or by simply saying thank you after purchasing an item. Also for everyone who did not show up to Room 322, I promise you we will work harder the coming months and next year to insure you stop by. You give us motivation to do better next year to get your attention and become one of your destinations for Boxing Day shopping.

See you Boxing Day 2011 and even though boxing day is finished we still have mark down a lot of off Room 322′s Spring/Summer/Fall 2010 merchandise!!

Apologize for the late update, but if you hand the opportunity check out Hip Hop for Hunger last Saturday it was another great performance by local groups. 9 Years strong, Politic Live has been the driving force behind Hip Hop for Hunger  and Room 322 always love supporting a good cause.

To help reach the goal of 1500 lbs now till Friday December 24 2010 Room 322 will be offering 10% off merchandise with a food bank donation. We have a collection box primed and ready to be filled, so stop by even if it is to just drop off some donations!
